It was a pleasure to return to Portmeirion in May 2025 and the weather was incredibly kind with one of the warmest weekends of the year. The sky was blue throughout and not once was north Wales threatened by rain! For those attending the meeting for the first time I can't think of a better introduction both to the Society and to Portmeirion.
Attendees were greeted with a wide ranging selection of talks from experts across Wales, highlighting the strengths of Wales as a medical nation.
There was numerous new faces attending who took to the values of the society and enjoyed their weekend.
The Society of Physicians draws on expertise across Wales to educate and entertain the attendees. This year we welcomed exciting new speakers and speakers returning to update us on previous topics. This led to a diverse range of talks illustrating common presentations to rarer patient stories.

After a number of years of absence it was a real pleasure to welcome the Resident Doctor Poster Competition back to Portmeirion. 4 high quality posters were presented by resident doctors from across Wales, followed by quick-fire podium presentations. It was felt this offered an unparalleled opportunity for Welsh Resident Doctors to present at a national meeting and the Society agreed that this format would replace the long standing "Bill Williams Memorial Lecture" in future, recognising the importance of achieving national presentation for future applications in developing doctors career, but also honouring Dr Bill Williams commitment to medical education.
